The Busy Ahead

I see some busy ahead, so I may not be posting here as frequently as I just resumed posting (is that as tortured and twisted a sentence as it seems?).

I want to post frequently, but I am also giving myself a bastard of a deadline for A Friend To The Watch while I await word from Baen on The Last Captain (which should come soon, I hope.). I am setting a tight deadline in hopes that I will finally add to the pile of DONE SHIT rather than the shittier pile of TO BE DONE SHIT that I have accrued over the last year or so.

I am also still percolating on what to do to bring my next Grantville Gazette story, A Time Piece, to a tight and entertaining conclusion.

So, off to work it is...

Writing Some

So, back on Bridge of The Broken, and writing some good stuff. At least, much more so than I have been able to put up in the last few months.

It seems that every Spring is a slow period for me, creatively. I hope I can overcome such things if I am ever well-established enough to leave the day jobbery.

A kid can dream, can't he?

For now, toil.

I need to focus a bit on my fiction writing, and therefore won't be posting here with anything like my usual slavish regularity.

Consistency Errors: Reason 1 To Bang Your Head!

Been having a few consistency errors, or rather, I live in fear of them as I write the denoument and climax of The Last Captain... I hope people like it, I really do. At a minimum, I hope my mad pursuit of uncooperative characters hasn't rendered it unreadable.

Writing Consistently is Hard

Been having a hard time since my accident sitting down and cranking pages like I need to. The wrist is still stiff, but that's not all of it.

I am at the crux of The Last Captain, and tying everything and everyone together is eluding me somewhat more than I thought it would. I am not worried as yet, as the characters of 'A Friend to The Watch' did the same thing to me. Running around, doing their own things, making it hard to draw them and all the threads generated by their activities together for the finale.

So it is easier to watch movies, play with my kid, eat, do whatever, than sit at the computer and batter my brain against the keyboard.

Today I take the hard road, and write... Once I'm done with this post.
