The things Griffin Barber thinks about when he's thinking, which is not necessarily often.
And they are my thoughts and opinions, not, in any way, those of the Department I work for.
Actually, the good news is it's not a remake, it's a prequel, telling the story of what happened at the Russian research station where Russell, Brimley and crew unknowingly became exposed to the creature in the Carpenter classic. And apparently the creators of this new one went out of their way to stick to continuity, to the point that they analyzed the state of of chaos that original station and reverse engineered the action from that. Actually though, not that I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure if You were referring to loving the original as loving the Carpenter (I love that one too) or the original original, which is from 195-something. Either way though, I have high hopes for this new one.
You are absolutely right. I actually hesitated before I typed Russian, then became lazy and thought to myself, "it was made during the 80's - it had to be Russian." That's what laziness get you!

That is great news!
ReplyDeleteI did love Carpenter's The Thing, and that was the film I was talking about.
In that version, wasn't the group that was initially infected Norwegian, not Russian?
